Letter to Coaches

If there is one thing that we have learned from staging the Iron Wood Thrower Development Camp over the past two decades, it’s that American throwing-event coaches represent some of the most dedicated people of any profession that we know. Your commitment to helping young people improve and succeed is truly inspirational, and that is why we have decided to create this site. Quite simply, it’s our way of giving something back to the many coaches who have unselfishly worked so hard to make the Iron Wood Thrower Development Camp such a tremendous success.

We know that you’ll greatly enjoy and benefit from the cutting-edge information that we’ve assembled on the most critical areas for throwing success: including event-specific techniques and training methods; speed, power, strength, and core training; flexibility, mobility, coordination, and energy system conditioning; and special topics such as recovery, restoration, mental preparation, and sports nutrition protocols. It is our hope that this site will continually serve as a valuable resource as you seek to provide your athletes with the most up-to-date techniques and scientifically-based training methods for many years in the future.

Most importantly, we want you to know that this information will be always be provided free of cost and we promise that no section will ever be “restricted” as we continue to grow this site in the future.
